Recertification 2023

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BELOW. We are committed to making the recertification process as smooth as possible for everyone and have detailed specific instructions below. Only complete the recertification form if you are due for recertification 12/31/2023

Recertification Overview:

• ALL CEUs must be earned prior to the certification expiration date.
• Extra credits DO NOT roll over to the next period. 
• Recertification is open from November 1st through December 31st.
• ASATT offers a grace period for late submissions which closes January 31st. HOWEVER all CEUs must still be earned prior to certification expiration date. See the section titled "Grace Period" below for relevant details.
• Technicians (Cer.A.T.) and Technologists (Cer.A.T.T.) must recertify every two years to remain in good standing with ASATT. 
• Technicians (Cer.A.T.) must earn a total of 20 Continuing Education Credits per 2 year period.
• Technologists (Cer.A.T.T.) must earn a total of 30 Continuing Education Credits per 2 year period. 
• Applications post-marked, paid, or submitted after 12/31/23 will be subject to a $75 late fee

Grace Period:

ASATT grants a renewal extension until January 31st for application submissions ONLY (CEUs must be earned prior to your certification expiration date, NO EXCEPTIONS). If the 31st of January falls on a Saturday, your packet is due by the end of business on Friday. If the 31st of January falls on a Sunday, your packet is due by the end of business on Monday. There will be no exceptions made for packets received after January 31st, unless prior arrangements were made with the Recertification Committee. Any recertification applications postmarked/sent/completed between 12/31/23 and 1/31/24 will be subject to a late fee of $75 on top of all previously existing recertification and credit fees.  

IMPORTANT: ALL Techs (Technologists and Technicians) MUST have an active BLS certification. Technologists are ALSO REQUIRED to obtain an ACLS/ALS certification. Please submit your BLS and ACLS (if Technologist) with your recertification. If you do not have a BLS or ACLS, please note that you have until the end of 2024 to obtain one. ASATT recognizes that this rule has previously not been enforced. Going forward, this is a requirement for every recertification period.

What credits are accepted?

• Any credits earned at an ASATT event or via the ASATT website (Including Sensor Quizzes). Need one more credit? Take the Professional Practice Survey Now!
• BLS, ALS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• Credits from events co-branded by ASATT
• CE credits received from any of ASATT's approved Anesthesia Technology Programs
• Third-party credits on a case-by-case basis (subject to additional fees and review). See here for more details. Time saving tip: If you plan to submit multiple third party credits, please combine them into one single file. There is only one opportunity to submit all during the recertification process.

Please ensure complete accuracy in your application as incomplete or incorrect applications may be subject to a $50 incomplete application fee.

Please make sure that your application is as accurate as possible, as incomplete or incorrect applications may be subject to an incomplete application fee of $50.

You may pay with a credit card, or request an invoice and mail in a check or money order. PLEASE NOTE that an application must be FULLY PAID before it can be reviewed. Any check or money order post-marked after the 12/31/23 renewal date will be subject to an additional late application fee of $75.
